|The Northern Territory Collection (NTC) has the most comprehensive range of published material on the Northern Territory in the world.|
The Northern Territory Collection is the principal documentary heritage collection for the Northern Territory, collecting all significant materials relating to the Northern Territory. The collection includes both historical and contemporary material regardless of language or format.

NTC Special Collection
Rare, fragile and significant works are housed in one of the Library’s special Heritage Rooms where environmental conditions are maintained at optimal preservation standards. These works can be viewed in the Library at one of our Special Collections tables after completing a registration form (pdf 32 Kb)(24 hours notice is required).
NTC Periodical Collection
Serial titles relating to the Northern Territory such as old journals, school newsletters, club magazines, show programs, phone and street directories are found in the NTC Periodical Collection. Both current and ceased serial publications are held by the Library.
The collection also includes: past and present NT Newspapers; calendars and tourist maps; NT Parliamentary Records and Papers; Laws, Ordinances, Acts and Bills of the Northern Territory; NT Government Gazettes; and Annual Reports.

A comprehensive range of music and film produced in the Northern Territory or by Territorians is also actively collected by the Library and held in the NTC Audio-Visual Collection. All past and present formats are collected, including vinyl records, audio-cassette tapes, CDs, VHS videos and DVDs. TV monitors and listening stations in the Library allow them to be viewed and played.
