"Any information that you supply to the Strehlow Research Centre is treated in confidence and will not be sold supplied to or copied for any other person or organisation without your written permission. However, the Strehlow Research Centre reserves the right to approach the Stolen Generations and Families Aboriginal Corporation or Link Up or both and members of the Arrernte and Luritja communities or affiliates of the Lutheran Church to ask for advice and to abide by traditional Aboriginal custom and law before any genealogical information is released”
It is important that the family tree information at the Centre is up-dated for the benefit of future Aboriginal people. This is also a requirement of the Northern Territory Information Act (2002).
People accessing information at the Strehlow Research Centre need to be aware that any information given to the Centre that may assist a future client to trace their family will be kept on file.
However, the Strehlow Research Centre will treat all such information in the strictest confidence in accordance with both the Information Act (2002) and the Strehlow Research Centre privacy regulations.
