Media Briefing
A media announcement is made in December on the Cabinet records due for release on 1 January the following year. Media kits will be made available for journalists which include copies of key Cabinet papers to be released. During the remainder of December, the Northern Territory Archives Service allows journalists to access the records in its Search Room to help them to prepare articles for publication on 1 January. Access to the records is provided on the condition that the embargo of midnight 31st December is observed, and the Northern Territory Archives Service is acknowledged as the source in all published and broadcast news.
The Northern Territory Archives Service will be closed for Christmas from Monday 24 December 2012 until Tuesday 1 January 2013. The search room will be open again on Wednesday 2 January 2013.
