The heart of the small community, the art centre is a place of inspiration, dynamism and a cultural focal point for the area. Through the mediums of paint, works on paper, fibre weaving, wood carving and Inma (dance, performance) elder artists share cultural traditions and stories with younger generations. The senior Key artists at Kaltjiti Arts are Robin Kankapankatja, Taylor Cooper, Kathy Maringka, Iwana Ken, Matjangka (Nyukana) Norris and Antjala Robin with emerging artists Rita Rolley, Delma Forbes, and Kanytjupai Robin making their transition into the Kaltjiti Arts exhibition schedule this year.
The Kaltjiti Arts exhibition program for 2012-1013 includes: Indigenart Mossenson Gallery, Perth; Tunbridge Gallery, Margaret River; Gallery Gabrielle Pizzi, Melbourne; Mossenson Gallery, Melbourne; SA Museum Gallery Adelaide; CCAE, Darwin; A.P. The artistic styles at Kaltjiti Arts are varied and explore many different expressions of mark making that translate and are inspired by the surrounding sand dune and wildflower landscape that is rich with colour, form, and embedded with ancient stories of the region.
